Covid-19 has changed our usual day to day life beyond anything we could have imagined. It has been a time of uncertainty which has led to many of us feeling anxious about what the future holds. During the pandemic there may have been times when life felt slower in pace, enabling more time for reflection and a different relationship with our communities and the natural world around us. For many there have been periods of isolation and feelings of disconnect from ourselves, our friends and loved ones and the world around us, and our events provide an opportunity for connection, socialising and shared nature/nurture activities to enhance health and well-being.
The team at Nature. Nurture. Rewild are keen to continue exploring new relationships with nature, health and well-being, as well as with ourselves and the communities around us.
Our organised Nature. Nurture. Rewild events are structured to explore our relationship with nature and the environment. We offer a full day of planned activities (walks, nature and ecological exploration, yoga and sea swimming) in the coastal area of Saltdean, Brighton.
We provide meals and can suggest overnight accomodation if required and aim to provide a bespoke, individualised experience of rewilding and connecting with nature.
Our events run quarterly the next date is Saturday 12th March 2022 , and we have subsequent events planned in June, September & December 2022.
We plan our events to link with solstices, equinox's connecting to ecological transitions and natural cycles.
We swim all year round and so could help facilitate cold water swimming for any of our participants who enjoy this or want to try it.
We have an amazing village hall as a base for the day, where we end the day with hot drinks, food and a fire to warm us all up.
We also have a beach hut on Saltdean beach which provides a useful base for swimming and enjoying the beach.
Our Nature. Nurture. Rewild team are Ellie, Sarah and Amanda. Ellie is our nature expert experienced and knowledgeable in nature connection. She runs a wellbeing in nature project for people experiencing mental health issues on a beautiful Sussex nature reserve. Ellie believes that the power of walking together and spending time in the woods, on chalk downland and the coast cannot be underestimated. Sarah is a qualified yoga teacher who practices in the Brighton area and online. She is Vajrasati trained, where practice is aligned to the true spirit of yoga. Her classes guide students through postures slowly and deeply, paying attention to the body, breath, mind, and heart. She has an interest in the therapeutic aspects of yoga, and how it can enhance wellbeing.
Amanda is a UKCP accredited relational psychotherapist and nurse with an interest in eco-therapy, and has an extensive background in psychotherapy and mental health and is a qualified health professional (nurse.)
The Nature. Nurture. Rewild partnership is one that is based on our passion and connection with nature, health and well-being. We regularly swim, walk and explore nature together and all practice yoga. We are keen to share with participants of our events our love of nature and our commitment to nurturing ourselves through mindful healthy activities like walking, swimming and yoga. We wish to issue a warm invitation to join us on one of our events and are available to answer any questions or provide further information via our email address: admin@changing-futures.com
